This page provides information on cuff elastic, cuff endcaps, and replacement cuffs.

Cuff elastic is inserted into the tail cuffs, and inflates around the mouse or rat tail during measurements. Each package contains enough material for 50 cuffs. One endcap is used at each end of cuff to secure the cuff elastic. Order two for each cuff. Be sure to order endcaps with same diameter as the metal cuff. BP-2000 tail cuffs are made of metal (brass). They rarely need to be replaced.

• Four Sizes of Mouse Holders. The four different sizes of Mouse Holders available allow you work with mice ranging from very small to obese.
• Easy Breathing. All mouse holders have a gate near the mouse's nose that keeps the mouse from escaping, yet allows allows for easy breathing and air circulation.
• Open Bottom for Easily Placing Over Mice. Because the holders are designed with an open bottom, it is easy to place the holder over the mouse from above; there is no need to try to force the mouse to go into a tube.
• Opaque Holders for Reduced Stress. Our experience indicates that mice prefer opaque holders that keep out the light, rather than transparent holders. Thus our holders are made of black, easy-to-clean aluminum.

There are four sizes of mouse holders:

• Six Sizes of Rats Holders. The six different sizes of Rat Holders available allow you work with rats ranging from very small to as large as one kilogram or larger.
• Easy Breathing. All rat holders have an adjustable gate near the rat's nose that keeps the rat from escaping, yet allows allows for easy breathing and air circulation.
• Open Bottom for Easily Placing Over Rats. Because the holders are designed with an open bottom, it is easy to place the holder over the rat from above; there is no need to try to force the rat to go into a tube.
• Opaque Holders for Reduced Stress. Our experience indicates that rats prefer opaque holders that keep out the light, rather than transparent holders. Thus our holders are made of black, easy-to-clean aluminum.

There are six sizes of rat holders:

Rat Holders Baseplates form the bottom of the holder. The small baseplate is used for holders size 1 ‑ 3, while the medium baseplate works with size 4 - 6.

If you are ordering new rat holders, you need new baseplates only if (1) your current baseplates will not fit the new holders, or (2) you want to measure rat BP on the Rat Platform, while simultaneously preheating other rats in additional rat holders.

The mouse excrement tray is placed on top of the Mouse Platform, beneath the mouse holders. The mouse holders attach magnetically to the tray. The tray can be easily removed and cleaned.
